Oklahoma Fishing Report for October 29, 2014

CENTRAL

Hefner: October 28. Elevation below normal, water 64-67 and clear. White bass and striped bass hybrids good on grubs and sassy shad at 3-10 ft. along riprap. Largemouth bass fair on jigs and crankbaits at 6-10 ft. along riprap. Channel and blue catfish fair on cut bait at 15-30 ft. along riprap. Walleye fair on jigs, sassy shad and jerk bait along riprap. Wes Watkins: October 28. Elevation below normal. Largemouth bass slow on crankbaits around points. Report submitted by Mike France, game warden stationed in Pottawatomie County.

NORTHEAST

Carl Blackwell: October 28. Elevation below normal, water 69 and dingy. Largemouth and spotted bass slow on rouges, plastic baits, Colorado-bladed spinnerbaits in dark colors and chatter baits. White bass, striped bass hybrids and saugeye fair on live bait, slabs, crankbaits, tube jigs and in-line spinnerbaits at 2-7 ft. along the dam, channels, the main lake, flats and Fox Run Bridge; all three species will be in the same areas feeding on schooled bait fish. Channel and flathead catfish fair on chicken liver, shad, live bait, worms, cut bait, cut sunfish, punch bait and stinkbait at 3-6 ft. along shorelines, the main lake, creek channels and Fox Run Bridge. Kaw: October 27. Elevation below normal, water 76 and clear. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait at 10-18 ft. in the main lake and river channel. Report submitted by Spencer Grace, game warden stationed in Kay County.

Lower Illinois: October 26. Elevation normal, water 55-65 and murky. Trout good on Power Bait and small lures below the dam, the river channel, Watts area and deep holes after sunrise. Report submitted by Jeremy Bersche, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

McMurtry: October 28. Elevation normal, water 65 and murky. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, minnows and shad at 6-12 ft. around docks, river channel and brush structure and fair on chicken liver on bottom off the east dock. Crappie good on minnows, tube jigs, Power Bait and jigs at 6-12 ft. around docks and brush structure. As the water temp cools we are seeing larger populations of crappie moving in to more shallow depths; take your bait to the bottom and every now and then bring it up about a foot until you start catching them. Oologah: October 26. Elevation dropping, water 68 and murky. Channel and blue catfish fair on shad on bottom. Report submitted by Brek Henry, game warden stationed in Rogers County.

Skiatook: October 27. Elevation below normal, water clear. Crappie slow on minnows and jigs at 10-20 ft. around brush structure. Report submitted by Paul Welch, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Tenkiller: October 26. Elevation normal, water 72 and clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, plastic baits and spinnerbaits at 3-15 ft. around points and coves. Crappie fair on minnows, hair jigs and tube jigs at 10-15 ft. around brush structure and docks. Channel catfish fair on punch bait and dough bait at 17-27 ft. around main points and the main lake. SOUTHEAST

Arbuckle: October 25. Elevation below normal, water 74 and stained. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass on crankbaits, topwater lures and spinnerbaits from the surface to 15 ft. around brush structure, points, weed beds and hydrilla beds early morning. Crappie fair on jigs, grubs, minnows and spoons at 7-33 ft. around brush structure, creek channels and state brush piles. White bass slow on grubs, spinnerbaits, small lures and spoons at 12 ft. around points, creek channels and coves. Report submitted by Jack Melton.

Blue River: October 27. Elevation normal, water 65 and clear. Smallmouth, largemouth and spotted bass fair on crankbaits, jigs and grubs at 3-6 ft. around brush structure, points and rocks. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, stinkbait and cut bait at 2-8 ft. along channels, rocks, brush structure and larger pools around current. Bluegill and other sunfish fair on grasshoppers, worms and small lures at 2-5 ft. around brush structure, rocks and the sand bar. Eufaula: October 26. Elevation 2 ft. below normal, water clear. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and plastic baits around points. White bass fair on crankbaits and jigs around windy points. Blue catfish fair on shad along shallow flats. Crappie fair on minnow and jigs around boat docks and bridge piers. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

Robert S. Kerr: October 28. Elevation normal, water 85. Largemouth and spotted bass good on Alabama rigs, spinnerbaits and bill baits along brush structure and creek channels. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on cut bait along channels and flats. Report submitted by Allen Couch, game warden stationed in Haskell County.

Texoma: October 26. Elevation 7 ft. below normal, water 74 and clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good on crankbaits, topwater lures and plastic baits at 5-20 ft. along creek channels, riprap and brush structure. Striped and white bass good on live shad, sassy shad and slabs at 10-20 ft. in coves, the river channel and main lake. Channel and blue catfish good on worms, live bait and stinkbait at 10-20 ft. along riprap, river mouth and creek channels. Crappie and sunfish good on minnows, tube jigs and small lures at 5-15 ft. around docks, creek channels and brush structure. Report submitted by Danny Clubb, game warden stationed in Bryan County.

SOUTHWEST

Tom Steed: October 27. Elevation below normal, water 65. Blue and channel catfish fair on cut bait, shad and stinkbait on bottom along flats. Report submitted by David Smith, game warden stationed in Kiowa County.
