Oklahoma Fishing Report for July 2, 2014

CENTRAL

Draper: July 1. Elevation above normal, water 77. Channel and blue catfish slow on cut bait and chicken liver along riprap and the river channel. White bass fair on crankbaits, slabs and plastic baits in the main lake and the inlet. Report submitted by Chad Strang, game warden stationed in Cleveland County.

Hefner: June 30. Elevation below normal, water 80-84. Channel and blue catfish good on punch bait, live bait and shrimp at 6-8 ft. along riprap, shorelines and the inlet. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits, spinnerbaits and jigs at 3-8 ft. along rocks. White bass and striped bass hybrids good on grubs, sassy shad and gay blades at 3-6 ft. at the inlet and along shorelines. Flathead catfish good on live bait, crankbaits and jigs at 4-8 ft. along riprap and weed beds. Walleye fair on minnows and jigs at 12-18 ft. along shorelines. Report submitted by Lucky Lure Tackle.

Overholser: July 1. Elevation below normal, water 72-77. Channel and blue catfish fair on chicken liver, hotdogs and live bait in river channels and around points. White bass and striped bass hybrids slow on slabs and minnows in the main lake and around docks. Carp fair on dough bait and worms below the dam. Thunderbird: July 1. Elevation below normal, water 77. Channel and blue catfish fair on chicken liver and cut bait in the main lake, along riprap and the river channel. White bass and saugeye fair on plastic bait, slabs and crankbaits in the main lake and around points. Largemouth bass fair on topwater lures, spinnerbaits and plastic baits in coves and around points. Report submitted by Chad Strang, game warden stationed in Cleveland County.

Wes Watkins: June 30. Elevation below normal. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver and punch bait at 7-12 ft. in channels. White bass fair on small lures in the main lake. Report submitted by Mike France, game warden stationed in Pottawatomie County.

NORTHEAST

Bell Cow: June 29. Elevation below normal, water 82. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 9-11 ft. around docks and brush structure. Channel catfish good on punch bait and stinkbait around docks and shorelines. Largemouth bass fair on plastic baits, sassy shad and crankbaits in standing timber. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.

Carl Blackwell: July 1. Elevation below normal, water 74. Largemouth bass slow on buzz baits, lipless baits and minnows at 1-7 ft. in coves, inlet and around points early morning. White bass, striped bass hybrids and saugeye good on crankbaits, jigs, lipless baits and slabs at 3-8 ft. in the main lake, creek channels and flats where shad are gathering. Crappie good on minnows, jigs and tube jigs at 9-13 ft. around docks, standing timber and creek channels. Channel catfish, flathead catfish and carp excellent on goldfish, minnows, punch bait and worms at 1-4 ft. in creek channels, riprap and rocks. Jugline and trotline fishing is restricted to west of the ski line. Channel catfish excellent on shad, punch bait and shrimp from the bank along the riprap. Report submitted by Chris Pulchny.

Chandler: June 29. Elevation below normal, water 82. Crappie slow on minnows around docks. Flathead catfish fair on live bait and sunfish along shorelines and the dam. Channel catfish fair on cut bait, shad and punch bait at the dam. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits in coves and channels. Report submitted by Gary Emmons, game warden stationed in Lincoln County.

Copan: June 29. Elevation normal, water 78. Channel, blue and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, stinkbait and worms at 4-8 ft. below the dam and along riprap. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Ft. Gibson: June 27. Elevation above normal, water 81. Crappie good on minnows and jigs at 12 ft. around brush structure and flats. White bass good on white ice flukes and slabs at 10 ft. along flats, the main lake and around points. Channel, blue and flathead catfish slow on live shad and punch bait at 15 ft. in the main lake and flats. Report submitted by Rick Stafford.

Greenleaf: July 1. Elevation normal, water 74 and clear. Largemouth bass good on spinnerbaits, bill baits and crankbaits around rocky points and brush structure. Catfish good on fresh cut bait and stinkbait on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 8-12 ft. around fishing docks and brush structure. Report submitted by Lark Wilson, game warden stationed in Muskogee County.

Hulah: June 29. Elevation normal, water 78. Channel, blue and flathead catfish good on chicken liver, stinkbait and worms at 4-10 ft. below the dam, the main lake and along riprap. Report submitted by Joe Alexander, game warden stationed in Washington County.

Kaw: June 30. Elevation above normal, water 85. Blue, flathead and channel catfish slow on cut bait, sunfish, shad and noodling at 3-8 ft. along flats, rocks and below the dam. Striped bass, white bass and striped bass hybrids fair on crankbaits, sassy shad, topwater lures and jigs at 5-20 ft. in the main lake and below the dam. Largemouth and spotted bass slow on crankbaits and plastic baits at 6-12 ft. in coves and around rocks. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 10-20 ft. around standing timber, riprap, brush structure and under bridges. Report submitted by Spencer Grace, game warden stationed in Kay County.

Keystone: July 1. Elevation above normal, water 83. White bass fair on spinnerbaits around points. Blue and channel catfish slow on cut bait in channels. Largemouth bass slow on plastic baits along shorelines. Report submitted by Karlin Bailey, game warden stationed in Creek County.

Lower Illinois: June 29. Elevation normal, water 55-75. Trout good on in-line spinnerbaits and white Power Bait below the dam, in the river channel and the Watts area in deep channels. Trout biting early and late as the water releases occur and stop. Report submitted by Jeremy Bersche, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.

Oologah: June 29. Elevation above normal, water 75. White bass fair trolling crankbaits at 10-15 ft. along flats and the main lake. Largemouth bass slow on plastic baits at 5-10 ft. along rocks. Blue and channel catfish fair on juglines baited with chicken liver and shad at 10-15 ft. in creek channels. Blue and channel catfish good on shad, worms and chicken liver at 10 ft. below the dam. Skiatook: June 30. Elevation below normal, water lower 80s. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on live shad and cut shad at 25-35 ft. in the main lake. Report submitted by Paul Welch, game warden stationed in Osage County.

Sooner: June 30. Elevation normal. White bass and striped bass hybrids fair on live shad, sassy shad and slabs in the discharge and main lake. Channel and blue catfish fair on cut bait and chicken liver around points and channels. Report submitted by Doug Gottschalk, game warden stationed in Noble County.

Tenkiller: July 2. Elevation above normal, water 80. Spotted bass good on plastic baits, topwater lures and spinnerbaits at 3-15 ft. in the main lake, along shorelines and shallows. White bass fair on in-line spinnerbaits and topwater lures in the main lake and around points. Crappie fair on minnows and tube jigs at 15-20 ft. around docks and brush structure. Sunfish good on worm-tipped jigs at 10-20 ft. in coves and docks. Channel, blue and flathead catfish fair on cut bait, minnows and shad at 7-10 ft. and 30-40 ft. drift fishing the flats and on flip-flops in deep water. Webbers Falls: July 1. Elevation normal, water 76 and murky. Largemouth bass fair on spinnerbaits, crankbaits and jig-and-worm along riprap, creek channels, brush structure and mudflats. Catfish good on fresh cut bait on bottom. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs in black and purple around brush structure and bridges. All other fishing slow. NORTHWEST

Canton: July 1. Elevation below normal, water 80. Channel catfish good on cut bait and shad at 2-10 ft. along riprap and the river channel. White bass and striped bass hybrids good on slabs and crankbaits at 4-12 ft. in the main lake. Report submitted by Mark Walker, game warden stationed in Blaine County.

Ft. Supply: June 30. Elevation normal. Channel catfish slow on Power Bait. Report submitted by Mark Reichenberger, game warden stationed in Woodward County.

SOUTHEAST

Arbuckle: June 27. Elevation below normal, water 79. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on jigs, crankbaits, worms and swim baits at 12-15 ft. along flats, weed beds, brush structure and secondary drop-offs early morning or on overcast days. White bass fair on small lures, hair jigs, slabs, topwater lures and wiggle-tailed grubs from the surface to 12 ft. along riprap, shallows, the main lake and open water chasing shad. Crappie, bluegill and sunfish fair on jigs, grubs, minnows, small lures and small 1/8 oz. chrome spoons at 12-28 ft. in the main lake, brush structure, creek channels and dock fishing. Blue River: July 1. Elevation normal, water 80 and clear. Smallmouth, spotted and largemouth bass good on tube jigs, topwater lures and crankbaits at 2-4 ft. in channels, along rocks and brush structure. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, stinkbait, worms and minnows at 3-8 ft. in channels and around brush structure. Flathead catfish fair on goldfish, shrimp and live bait at 5-9 ft. along rocks and the river channel in late evening and at night. Broken Bow: June 29. Elevation normal, water 78. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass fair on Alabama rigs, crankbaits and plastic baits at 10-15 ft. around brush structure, standing timber and creek channels. Channel catfish good on chicken liver, stinkbait, punch bait and worms at 5-10 ft. in creek channels, river channel and rocks. Crappie good on jigs, tube jigs and minnows at 15-20 ft. around brush structure and standing timber. Report submitted by Dru Polk, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Eufaula: June 29. Elevation 1 1/2 ft. above normal, and clear in the east and stained in the west. Largemouth bass fair on crankbaits and plastic baits in rocky areas and points. White bass good on slab spoons off deeper flats early and late. Blue catfish fair on a variety of catfish baits in deeper rocky areas and flats. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs under bridges and around standing timber. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.

Hugo: June 29. Elevation normal. Catfish good on trotlines baited with sunfish and goldfish. Crappie fair to good on minnows around deep structure in river channel. Largemouth bass fair to good on soft plastic baits and spinnerbaits around brush and rock piles. All fishing slow below the dam. Report submitted by Jay Harvey, game warden stationed in Choctaw and Bryan counties.

Konawa: July 1. Elevation above normal, water 82. Largemouth bass good on plastic baits, topwater lures and live bait around brush structure, weed beds and shallows. Channel and blue catfish good on dough bait, cut bait, stinkbait and worms at 4-8 ft. along shallows, points and creek channels. White bass and striped bass hybrids slow on cut bait, jigs, spoons and crankbaits in creek channels, the discharge and around points. Lower Mountain Fork: June 29. Elevation normal, water 65. Trout fair on caddis flies and Power Bait around rocks and creek channels. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

Murray: June 29. Elevation below normal, water 80. Largemouth, spotted and smallmouth bass good on Alabama rigs, plastic baits and flukes at 10-20 ft. around points, rocks and weed beds. Channel catfish fair on chicken liver, worms, punch bait and minnows at 4-10 ft. in shallows, riprap and river channel. Crappie fair on minnows and jigs at 8-12 ft. around brush structure and docks. White bass fair on minnows, topwater lures and sassy shad from the surface to 20 ft. in the main lake and around points. Report submitted by Jeremy Brothers, game warden stationed in Carter County.

Pine Creek: June 29. Elevation normal, water 72. Largemouth and white bass good on sassy shad and topwater lures in coves and around standing timber. Robert S. Kerr: June 30. Elevation normal, water 78. Largemouth and spotted bass good on flukes and spinnerbaits in coves and around points. White bass and striped bass good on Alabama rigs and bill baits in the river channel. Blue, channel and flathead catfish good on cut bait and live bait along flats and the main lake. Sardis: June 30. Elevation normal, water 75. Blue and channel catfish good on cut bait at 12-20 ft. along channels, the main lake and rocks. Largemouth and spotted bass fair on buzz baits, topwater lures, crankbaits and worms at 2-15 ft. around brush structure, weed beds and rocks. Texoma: June 29. Elevation below normal, water 78. Largemouth and smallmouth bass good on plastic baits, jigs, spinnerbaits and crankbaits at 10-20 ft. around brush structure and creek channels. White and striped bass good on live shad, slabs and sassy shad at 10-20 ft. in the main lake and river channel. Channel and blue catfish good on worms, live bait and stinkbait at 10-20 ft. along riprap, river channel, cleaning stations and the Red and Washita rivers. Wister: June 29. Elevation normal, water 77. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass good on bill baits, spinnerbaits and baby brush hogs at 6-12 ft. in creek channels, around points and riprap. Flathead, channel and blue catfish good on goldfish, sunfish, live bait and dough bait at 10-20 ft. in channels and the main lake. Crappie, sunfish and bluegill good on minnows, jigs, small lures and crickets at 10-12 ft. around brush structure, creek channels and standing timber. Ellsworth: June 29. Elevation below normal, water 76. Channel, blue and flathead catfish slow on cut bait and punch bait around points and channels. Lawtonka: June 29. Elevation normal, water 76. Channel, blue and flathead catfish slow on cut bait and punch bait along the spillway, points and channels. Waurika: June 30. Elevation below normal, water 75. Crappie slow on minnows around brush structure. Blue and channel catfish fair on punch bait, stinkbait and cut bait in the main lake and around points. Striped bass hybrids fair on minnows, flukes and sassy shad around points.
