Oklahoma Fishing Report December 4 2014
Hefner: December 3. Elevation normal, water 42-46 and clear. White bass and striped bass hybrids are good on grubs, lipless baits and chrome gay blades. White and chartreuse grubs working the best. Walleye fair in and around rip-rap and dam on jerk bait and grubs at 4-10 ft. Best ones being caught early morning and late evening. Channel and blue catfish good in and around rip-rap and dam on cut bait at 20-30 ft. Crappie good in and around rip-rap and dam on minnows and jigs at 12-20 ft. Report submitted by Lucky Lure Tackle.
Wes Watkins: December 1. Elevation below average. Crappie slow in standing timber on minnows. All other fishing slow. Report submitted by Mike France, game warden stationed in Pottawatomie County.
Ft. Gibson: Elevation above average, water 44 and clear. Crappie fair around docks and brush structure on minnows and tube jigs at 15-20 ft. Blue, channel and flathead catfish fair in river channel and main lake on live shad and cut bait at 15-20 ft. Report submitted by Rick Stafford.
Lower Illinois: November 30. Elevation normal, water 55 and clear. Trout good below the dam and riffles on powerbait and midges in deep holes. Report submitted by Jeremy Bersche, game warden stationed in Sequoyah County.
McMurtry: December 1. Elevation below normal, water semi-murkey. Crappie slow around docks on minnows at 6-12 ft. Few crappie caught off west and east docks. Report submitted by Jared Avilez, Park Operations Manager at Lake McMurtry.
Perry CCC: December 2. Elevation normal, water murky. Trout excellent in and along coves and shorelines on spinnerbaits. Most small spinners seen to be working well, some fishermen are having luck with power bait. Report submitted by Doug Gottschalk, game warden stationed in Noble County.
Tenkiller: December 1. Elevation 3 ft below normal, water clear and steady. Crappie fair in and around docks and brush structure on tube jigs at 15-20 ft. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass slow in and around main lake and points on plastics and jigs at 10-15 ft. Report submitted by Monte Brooks of Cookson, OK.
Arbuckle: November 29. Elevation below average, water 61 stained to clear. Largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass slow in main lake, coves and brush structure on jigs, Alabama rig and crankbaits at 0-15 ft. White bass fair in coves, river channel and creek channels on Alabama rig, slabs, spoons and crankbaits at 4-37 ft. Crappie slow in brush structure and creek channels on hair jigs and minnows at 37 ft. Report submitted by Jack Melton.
Blue River: December 3. Trout good in channels, on sandbars, below waterfalls and breaks in currents on powerbait, in-line spinnerbait, spoons, San Juan worms, eggs patterns, nymphs and woolly buggers at 1-7 ft. Approximately 2,400 trout were stocked on November 25. Channel catfish fair in channels, rocks, deeper pools and on sandbar on chicken liver, stinkbait and cut bait at 4-8 ft.
Eufaula: November 30. Elevation 3 ft below normal, water clear. Largemouth bass slow. White bass slow. Blue catfish fair on fresh shad in shallow flats. Crappie fair in and around boat docks with brush and standing timber on minnows and jigs. Report submitted by Ed Rodebush, game warden stationed in McIntosh County.
Robert S. Kerr: Elevation normal, water murky. Blue, channel and flathead catfish excellent in main lake and river channel on shad and chicken liver. Crappie fair around points and rocks on jigs and minnows. Report submitted by Allen Couch, game warden stationed in Haskell county.
Texoma: November 30. Elevation below average, water 62 and clear. Largemouth and smallmouth bass fair in and around brush structure, river channel and creek channel on plastics, spinnerbaits and crankbaits at 15-20 ft. Striped and white bass good in and around main lake, coves and river channel on live shad, sassy shad and slabs at 15-30 ft. Channel and blue catfish fair in rip-rap, creek channels and cleaning stations on worms, stinkbait, live bait at 10-20 ft. Crappie and sunfish fair in and around docks, creek channels and brush structure on tube jigs, small lures and minnows at 10-15 ft. Foss: November 26: Elevation 18.5 ft below normal. Water mid to high 40s and clear. Gates are closed and the main boat ramp is still open. Hybrid bass good on slabs in mid to deep water. Walleye fair on live bait. Catfish slow. Report submitted by Eric Puyear, B&K Bait House.
Ft. Cobb: November 29. Elevation below average, water 50 and fair. Crappie fair around docks on jigs at 8-10 ft. Saugeye fair at docks and points on live shad. Striped bass hybrids fair in and around docks, brush structure and coves on live shad and minnows. Report submitted by Sunset Cove Marina.
Tom Steed: December 2. Elevation below average, water 42. Blue and channel catfish good along flats on cut bait and shad along bottom. Report submitted by David Smith, game warden stationed in Kiowa County.
